As simple as our morning “hello”…

the twinkling wink when you know that I know…

the brush of our touch as we quickly pass by…

the look we enjoy in the other’s eye…

 

As difficult as the times amiss…

when we part with our perfunctory kiss…

when we can’t quite see…when we don’t hear the song…

when we won’t admit that we might have been wrong.

 

As low as the times when we’d like to run…

and find an escape in the warm summer sun.

As high as the times when our lips seem to melt

as we once again feel what we’ve so often felt…

 

Watching our children bloom and grow…

holding them close…yet helping them go…

sharing this family we’ve created with love…

holding our new precious gifts from above.

 

Together we’ve overcome lots of rough weather,

and it’s been our love that holds us together.
