I Remember When
Our five children gifted us
with a weekend stay in San Francisco.
They treated us to dinner at The House of Prime Rib,
a night of comedy at Cobb’s corner,
and two restful nights at the Archbishop’s Mansion.
We walked down San Francisco streets in the morning sun
playing as children on the run.
We laughed as we walked,
sharing two beautiful days as we talked.
It was an anniversary gift of love
from our five wonderful children and their mates
who sent us on a weekend of fantastic dates.
It was a lovely getaway, and a beautiful memory,
But much more important than that…
It was gift of love that can’t be bought–
It said: we learned what you have taught.
